Travel and Transportation

Driving:

If you are driving out to join us on one of our horseback riding vacations or trail rides, here is a map, which shows you how to get here from Calgary. Please do not use a GPS, it has a tendency to send people in the wrong direction. We are located 15 KM west of Turner Valley off secondary Hwy 546.

Directions from Downtown Calgary: Drive south on Macleod Trail to Stoney Trail/ Spruce Meadows Trail (Hwy 22X) overpass. Go right (west) on 22X until you come to the Hwy 22 intersection. Watch for the big orange sign with flashing lights that says ‘Divided Highway Ends 2 KM’, about 1 KM after this sign is the turn for Millarville, Black Diamond, Turner Valley. Go left (south) and follow the signs into the town of Turner Valley. Once you’re in Turner Valley there’s a 4-way stop (the only one in town). Turn right (west) and go for 15 km, until you see the sign for Anchor D Guiding & Outfitting on the right (north) side of the road. That’s us!! Give yourself around an hour and a half (depending on traffic) to get here from downtown.

Directions from the Calgary Airport:
Go south on Deerfoot Trail to Stoney Trail (Highway 22X), and turn right (west). Drive west until you come to the intersection of Hwy 22, turn left (south). Watch for the big orange sign with flashing lights that says ‘Divided Highway Ends 2 KM’, about 1 KM after this sign is the turn for Millarville, Black Diamond, Turner Valley. Follow the signs into the town of Turner Valley. Once you’re in Turner Valley there’s a 4-way stop (the only one in town!). Turn right (west) and go for 15 km. until you see the sign for Anchor D Guiding & Outfitting on the right (north) side of the road. That’s us! Give your self around an hour and 20 minutes to get here from the airport.

Please Note
If you drive south on Deerfoot to Okotoks and head west on Hwy 7 through Black Diamond go straight at the 4 way stop in Turner Valley

Directions from Banff: Drive east on #1 (Trans-Canada) Hwy, until you come to the intersection of Hwy. 22 South. Turn right (south) and go 17.5 km. to Bragg Creek. I had such a wonderful time on the Great Divide Ride last week. The trip was better than I could have imagined. I'd be delighted to give referrals to anyone who is looking to join an Anchor D trip and would like to speak with a past guest. Feel free to give out my e-mail or phone number to anyone who wants a candid opinion. I only have rave reviews for Dewey's fun-loving style, the great and well-trained horses and the skilled and professional staff. Thank you for sharing your beautiful neck of the woods!
