Horseback Riding in the Rocky Mountains of Alberta

Located just an hour southwest of Calgary, at Anchor D Outfitting we have the right horseback vacation to satisfy the cowboy in everyone. Whether you are looking for a 2 or 3 hour guided trail ride in the high foothills, ranch or mountain day rides, a family-friendly weekend in the saddle, or even a 4 or 7 day adventure ride, we have a horseback vacation for everyone. Our top quality horses are always matched to your ability to ensure an enjoyable ride.

In addition to our horseback riding vacations, we also offer cabin rentals nestled in a secluded grove right on our ranch property. Spend the day in the saddle soaking up the glorious natural beauty of the mountains and relax in total comfort in one of our cabins at night.

To ensure we provide each of our guests a personalized horseback riding vacation that exceeds their expectations, we only take a maximum of 12 guests per trip. Therefore available dates book quickly, and we encourage you to make your reservation today to avoid disappointment.

Thank you so much for the mind-blowing trip and your big-hearted hospitality! I was most grateful to settle back into my room Sunday night and kick back with your Anchor D family eating a wonderful turkey feast. It was the magical cap on an exceptional 7-day trip. I just loved every second of the trip, particularly bearing witness to Bandit's manoeuvres, negotiating at times what seemed to be impassable terrain....but not for my pony! Bandit was awesome and I had brand new experiences jumping logs, leaping up river banks & hills, loping and galloping! Woo Hoo!
I will try to dress the part next time instead of looking like an English riding yoga instructor. Ha! Thank you for allowing me to tick another great adventure off my extremely long bucket list.
