Ride in the Foothills of the Rockies

Trail riding is the perfect way to get a taste of cowboy life when you only have a bit of time to spare or are new to horseback riding. Be our guest for two or three hours of horseback riding in the breathtaking high foothills that surround our ranch. The trails will take you all the way to the top of ridges, treating you to scenic trails and overlooks along the way. Or you can splash across the Sheep River to explore even more incredible country, before winding your way back to the ranch.

Be sure to bring your camera because you will certainly want to snap pictures of the Rocky Mountains, foothills and prairies that you will encounter along the way.

If you would like to bring along a water bottle, you are welcome to do so.

I’d like to thank Anchor D and specifically Dewey for an amazing day. The scenery was spectacular, the horses well cared for, and We will remember this for years to come. I loved every moment and am sure we’ll be back!

I had the BEST time on our 2 hour trail ride! Canada and Alberta is exquisite! Thanks for the great ride and the beautiful scenery. Riley, my mare was perfect. Had lots of get up and "let's go!" Thank you for the sweet memories.

Nancy

We had a fabulous ride with Anchor D! The staff was super friendly and provided helpful riding tips. The horses were all ready for us when we arrived and were perfect for our ability level. The scenery was absolutely amazing. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I just wish we had time to go back and do it again!

Billy

Absolutely beautiful. My little girl and I rode for three hours. It was so beautiful, horse were so well trained and staff are amazing. It was the first time my little girl was on a horse and she absolutely loved every minute. Thank you guys for the experience and we will be coming back for more rides

Michelle

We went with our two daughters to celebrate one of their birthdays. Kelly was our guide and she was AMAZING!! The scenery was gorgeous and the horses were fabulous (we were all beginners). We had previously been out to the ranch for a sleigh ride in December. The sleigh ride was also an enjoyable experience. A great place to spend with family. We can't wait to go back and the kids are planning their next adventure there.

Jamie

I would like to thank you for an amazing first time experience at your ranch! My daughters and I had never ridden and were a little apprehensive. All the wranglers we met were so kind and helpful. Georgia was our wrangler and we could not have asked for anyone better. She took the time to talk to us, explain and answer questions and made sure we were comfortable every step of the way. We can't wait to come again and will be sure to ask for Georgia!

I just wanted to tell you how much fun we had on our tour. Although we had others on the trail with us we felt a truly personal experience. My parents had a wonderful time and are looking forward to coming back next year to do a more challenging ride. I had never rode prior to that day but I received great help from the guides. I will recommend you to anyone.

I want to say how much fun we had at Anchor D ranch. The people are very knowledgeable, friendly, and kind to be with. We had Victoria, Ellesh, and
Katelyn on our ride. They taught us so much. My daughter who is 12 said she wants to do what they do when she gets older. They were very friendly and kind to her.
If you are coming from out of town it is a must do when in the Calgary area. This ranch is very attentive to your needs and making sure you have an awesome time. Five star outfit in my mind. Will be back there again this season.
Dewy makes sure you have a good time and I wish I had more time with him as he would have many cool and interesting stories.
